How is it possible that I've reached 55 years of age without ever hearing the term 'airplane bungalow'? Well, today, I finally learned about it. Thank goodness.

Here is what I found about the style: The Airplane Bungalow is similar to the Craftsman Bungalow, but the Airplane Bungalow is characterized by a “pop up” second floor, usually of one or two rooms; resembling a cockpit of an airplane. In California, this movement often incorporated elements of Oriental design.
Last week we bought another tear down lot in Cabin John. I had found these clever designs in some old emails from our architect and told him that's what I wanted the new home to look like. They looked like a craftsman but better. I'm not a fan of craftsman homes but love this adjusted style of craftsman.
