The House in Something's Gotta Give & Diane Keaton

Twelve years ago I wrote about the house in Something's Gotta Give in our original blog - the date was Feb 2, 2013. With the recent passing of Diane Keaton I was reminded of how much I loved that house and how it inspires some of our design choices to this day. Though the exterior was an actual home in the Hamptons, the interior was built on a soundstage. She was a style icon, her most recent home in Sullivan Canyon, CA is simply perfection; you should look it up. It's a clever combination of industrial and modern. I just ordered her book, The House that Pinterest Built, (Amazon link for the book) it will be here any day :-) - the book details her love of design and especially her final home in Sullivan Canyon.

We watched Father of the Bride this weekend and will watch Something's Gotta Give this weekend, followed by The Family Stone. She was just terrific. Such a loss.
